DEREK KAITIRA MURUSURI is a Trainer, Researcher and Consultant in Media, Business, Management and Strategic Communications. He serves as member of Content Committee at Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA). Derek is also assessor of a District Land and Housing Tribunal in Dar es Salaam. He lectured at the then Tanzania School of Journalism (TSJ), now part of the University of Dar es Salaam. He was Head of Department at London’s Vision College of Theology & Business Studies. Derek briefly worked at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation TV (NBC TV) in Windhoek. He was the first Business Development Manager for Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He served for 12 years as Regional Advisor for UK’s Association of Business Executives (ABE). Once assistant to Cabinet Minister, Derek doubled as Press Secretary to Secretary General of Tanzania’s largest political party. He has been advising political and corporate leaders. Derek has made over 200 presentations in workshops and seminars on his areas of interest. Derek is an MBA. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Journalism and successfully completed a taught Course on MA in Journalism Studies at Cardiff University, Wales, in 1999.
